Big Title
I am excited to announce I have formed my own multi media company, specializing in projects focusing on the LGBTQ experience. Look out for film, theatre, music & graphic design projects created & developed at Breakfield
Entertainment.
The company is named after my childhood home in the hills of Perth, Western Australia, which was named after my great grandmothers childhood home in England.
I have always felt a deep connection to my maternal great grandmother, I would pray to her photograph as a child
& still to this day I am guided & advised by her in my dreams. Her daughter Marnie, my grandmother, was the highest accredited piano teacher in Australia & was a huge influence on my dream to pursue music & acting.
Through projects developed at Breakfield, I wish to continue the long line of personal & passionate storytelling that I have always carried in my heart. Breakfield has such a profoundly rich history for me.
Breakfield is my birthplace, a home I still return to. It signals comfort, compassion, privacy, a place to heal. It represents change, existence, mortality, freedom, clarity & eternity. It has always been my touchstone, a safe space to rest my weary head. Breakfield is where I dream, plant, grow & will continue decades of storytelling.
I have a number of projects in the works; a solo music project of a late night lounge blues recording of songs by written by artists I love - including Tom Waits, Marianne Faithful, Billy Joel, Marilyn Manson & Screaming Jay Hawkins. The big project brewing is an arthouse true crime feature film set in the midwest in the early 90's. The story centers around the murder of dozens of young gay men. An horrific true story that has yet to be told & I aim to give these innocent young victims a voice.
As a young man, I often hitchhiked around Western Australia, putting myself in many dangerous situations. I am outraged by the violence & abuse many young LGBTQ people experienced then & still do now. This is a deeply personal project & I plan to shine a light on how far we still need to evolve in respecting LGBTQ people. To this day, many gay people are exposed to condemnation, violence or murder. I am compelled to tell this story & stories of people I know & love, written by my people, about my people.
